White & Case Guides TotalEnergies' $1.25B North American Solar Sale
Global law firm White & Case LLP has guided TotalEnergies in the sale of a significant stake in its North American solar energy portfolio. The transaction, valued at US$1.25 billion, involves a 50% share in a 1.4 GW solar portfolio. The portfolio, comprising six utility-scale solar assets with a combined capacity of 1.3 GW and 41 distributed generation assets totalling 140 MW, is primarily located in the United States. TotalEnergies has sold this 50% stake to a KKR-managed insurance fund. TotalEnergies will retain and operate the remaining 50% of the assets, ensuring continuity in the management and development of the portfolio. The sale, advised by White & Case LLP, values the entire portfolio at US$1.25 billion. This transaction demonstrates the growing interest in renewable energy investments and the increasing value of solar assets in North America.
