Wolfsburg's Waste Disposal Fees to Rise and Fall in 2023
Wolfsburg's council is set to decide on changes to waste disposal fees on November 4th. The alterations reflect rising costs and varying service demands.
Sewage disposal fees are set to rise by 8 percent due to general price increases, higher membership fees to the Wastewater Association of Braunschweig (AVB), extensive sewer network investments, and decreasing sewage water amounts. Residual and organic waste container fees are proposed to increase by 2.5 percent, with the rise in residual waste disposal fees attributed to higher thermal waste treatment costs and an increased CO2 tax.
In contrast, street cleaning fees will decrease by 3.7 percent next year, thanks to efficiency gains by service provider ALBA Braunschweig GmbH. Stormwater charges are set to increase by 4.3 percent.
The council's decision on November 4th will finalize these fee changes, aiming to balance costs and service quality across various waste management services in Wolfsburg.
