An international organization, Women Choice, has launched a significant initiative in partnership with Mastercard to empower women entrepreneurs in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. Women Choice, led by Nezha Alaoui, launched a pilot cohort in 2023 with the goal of impacting 50,000 women entrepreneurs by 2024. The organization has already connected over 15,000 women entrepreneurs to over 100 accelerator programs and conferences through its platform, Women Choice.
The partnership with Mastercard has introduced two new initiatives: ImpactHer and EmpowerHer. These initiatives aim to reach a combined total of 1,000 women entrepreneurs in 2024, offering training, mentorship, and resources to support their growth. Amnah Ajmal, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Communications, Mastercard Middle East and North Africa, stated that the partnership aims to support women's success and economic growth in the region.
The Mastercard-Women's Choice partnership is set to make a significant impact on women's empowerment and economic development in the MEA region. With a shared goal of creating one million employment opportunities for women by 2030, the initiatives ImpactHer and EmpowerHer are poised to transform the entrepreneurial landscape, supporting women's success and driving regional economic growth.
