Wooden-fingered roadway undergoing extended closure from May
TÜBINGEN REGION: Infrastructure Maintenance on Two Key Roads
President Klaus Tappeser of the Tübingen administrative region outlined ongoing maintenance efforts to ensure the continued functionality of the region's extensive road and bike path system. Significant funding has been allocated for the Holzelfingen Steige and the Stuhl Steige between Pfullingen and Genkingen. Aware of the potential disruptions these construction works may cause, the government is mindful of the inconveniences these projects may pose for residents and commuters.
In May, the Holzelfingen Steige will undergo renovation, with the asphalt surface of the L387 section between Unterhausen and Holzelfingen being replaced. This project, anticipated to last from May to July, involves exchanging approximately 3.2 kilometers of the asphalt top layer. The full road closure necessary for paving work comes with an estimated budget of around 1.6 million euros.
Since early March, work on the slope stabilization and road surface renewal in the Stuhl Steige between Pfullingen and Genkingen has been underway. By mid-April, a repaired road surface damaged during the heavy rain events in June 2024 will be complete, followed by the renewal of the road surface from the "Maustäle" parking lot to the roundabout at the entrance of Pfullingen.
For current, detailed information on these projects, it's recommended to visit the official websites of the Tübingen administrative region or local municipalities, local newspapers or online news platforms, contact the local infrastructure or transportation department, or attend public meetings where these projects are discussed.
The upcoming renovation of the Holzelfingen Steige in May is a part of the region's infrastructure maintenance, which also includes the finance sector, as the full road closure necessary for the project has an estimated budget of around 1.6 million euros. The extensive maintenance efforts in the Tübingen region encompass not only roads but also impact the transportation industry, with the Stuhl Steige undergoing slope stabilization and road surface renewal, including the finance for this project.
