Workers Plunge into Toxic Nickel Tanks - Potentially Fatal Incidents
In Schnaittach near Nuremberg, a 27-year-old man has been left fighting for his life after an unfortunate accident involving a vat of molten nickel. The man was working to nickel plate objects in the container when the accident occurred.
The exact circumstances leading to his partial fall into the vat remain unclear. Colleagues rushed to help him immediately, and emergency services were promptly called. The man was airlifted to a hospital by helicopter, reflecting the urgency of the situation.
Nickel plating is a process of thinly coating the surface of objects with the metal, often used for corrosion protection or aesthetic reasons. The temperature of the nickel in the vat was around 90 degrees Celsius, which would have contributed to the man's severe burns.
