In the heart of Novi, work is underway to replace an outdated section of the methane distribution network in Via Verdi. This intervention is part of a larger project, the Terzo Valico, for which Rfi has committed to investing around 3 million euros for a road revamp of Piazza XX Settembre.

The municipality and Acos, a company managing Reti srl, are involved in the project. Rfi's work aims to upgrade old pipes in anticipation of new road infrastructure affecting Piazza XX Settembre and its surrounding area. However, no specific details about the nature of the new road infrastructure were mentioned.

Despite some unplanned delays, contractors have sped up the process, ensuring that the work continues on Saturdays and during the Ferragosto week to finish by the first week of September. The street is currently open only to pedestrians, causing traffic congestion in Novi.

Meanwhile, work is also being done on the railway overpass in Strada Cassano, near Pieve. The road service in Strada Cassano is expected to reopen by the end of the month or the first week of September to restore traffic flow on another crucial artery leading to Cassano. The schools are scheduled to reopen, and the work is expected to be completed before that.

Initially, the timeline aimed to complete the work and reopen the traffic artery by September. However, the municipality is awaiting the final project for approval, stretching the timeline. Nighttime work on Via Verdi is not currently planned, but it was initially considered and may not be necessary.

For precise and up-to-date details about the Via Verdi underpass project in Novi, it is recommended to consult local municipal websites, utility company announcements, or official press releases from Novi city administration or the company managing the methane distribution network.

The average cost of the Terzo Valico project, which includes the revamp of Piazza XX Settembre and the upgrade of the methane distribution network in Via Verdi, is approximately 3 million euros, with Rfi investing the majority of the funds. Despite the finance-heavy project being in the industry of infrastructure, transportation in Novi is currently affected by the work, as the street is open only to pedestrians, causing traffic congestion.
